A sub domain is a domain that is another level deep from your main domain. If your main domain is http://example.com you can create a sub-domain for your blog using the same domain such as http://blog.example.com or for your tutorials such as http://tutorials.example.com. With smaller web hosting, sub domains are typically a sub directory in the main webserver as in /public_html/blog or /public_html/tutorials in our previous two examples, but they can be totally different web servers in different locations with the correct DNS entry. |
